The WooCommerce Payment Gateway Based Fees plugin allows store owners to add additional fees or discounts to orders based on the payment method selected by the customer during checkout.
With this plugin, you can enable or disable additional fees for your entire website without removing any data. You can also enable additional fees for a single gateway or a single product.
This level of customization allows you to tailor the fees to your specific needs and preferences.
The plugin offers automatic calculations of fees for each gateway or each product. This means that when a customer selects a payment gateway or adds a product to their cart, the additional fee or discount is automatically calculated and added to the total cost.
The plugin also allows you to change the automatically calculated fee on the order page. This means that you can manually adjust the fee if necessary before the customer completes the checkout process.
Additionally, the plugin offers an option to manually add a fee to an order after the user completes the checkout.
You can also manually add a fee to orders you create on the admin page, which can be helpful for managing orders that require special attention.
The WooCommerce Payment Gateway Based Fees plugin also offers the ability to define a maximum limit to which a fee is added at the cart level or for a product. This feature can be useful if you want to limit the amount of additional fees that can be applied to an order.
The WooCommerce Payment Gateway Based Fees plugin supports tax calculation for additional fees, and it offers three calculation methods:
- “Fixed amount”: Adds a fixed amount to the fee.
- “Add % to the total amount”: Adds a percentage of the product price or order total, depending on which one you choose.
- “Include % in total amount”: Calculates the fee as a commission rate, which means you’ll be paid the total amount of the order.
Finally, the Payment Gateway Based Fees plugin is WPML compatible, which means that the fee caption or title can be translated into different languages.
It’s important to note that the plugin is not currently compatible with the automated taxes service of the Jetpack plugin. If you’re using Jetpack’s automated taxes, you’ll need to disable it on the WooCommerce settings page until third-party developers can hook into the automated tax calculation.
